Now that I’ve caught up on posting my challenges from the past two weeks, I was able to check out what it was we were challenged to do this week! FUN! FUN! FUN! is what was challenged of us this week! We were to take a ‘found object’ – anything that inspired us – to make our string. As I was walking around the studio looking high and low for that ‘perfect object’ and spending way too much time on the act of finding a string as opposed to working on ‘the string’…ANY STRING! I was just about to give up and go to lunch when I saw it, bright light and all, from across the room. There it was, the ‘perfect string’…a large scrolled wooden frame that one day is going to a fun project, but for now is the perfect string to my very fun challenge.
Here is my string:
After I drew the string I just sat there for awhile trying to figure out where I was going to go with it…it wasn’t a typical string that went from the sides, or the top, or all over, it was simply random spots of what were the frames cut outs, so it threw me off a bit. And as I was turning the tile and bonding with the inspiration it was offering me, it hit me…of course it was a no brainer that I would somehow find a way to see Mooka in this piece and those arches in the side pieces allowed the perfect place to nestle them. Then came the visual of somehow incorporating those orb shapes into a Quib rendition. And the rest as they say, is history…it all just flowed together so nicely once I got started. And I just love the outcome of this one!

Now I’m off to see what you have all created, which is always so inspirational, and more times than not, quite amazing!
